Robust 5-inch signature pad with color display for continuous use
StepOver is expanding its portfolio of digital signature solutions with the new duraSign Pad 5.0, the direct successor to the proven duraSign Pad Brilliance. The new model has been specially developed for reliable continuous use in demanding work environments and combines a particularly robust design with modern technology and the highest security standards. The 3 mm thick housing made of durable polycarbonate ABS and the hardened glass surface ensure particularly high durability. This makes the new signature pad ideal for use at cash registers, reception desks, counters, or in high-traffic office environments.
The integrated 5-inch color display with a resolution of 800 × 480 pixels and 64,000 colors provides space for displaying documents and texts. The electronic signature is shown on the display in real time. In addition, individual content such as notices, advertising messages, or information can be presented as a slideshow in standby mode.
As usual with StepOver, the duraSign Pad 5.0 focuses on the security of the electronic signature. The captured biometric signature data, including pressure, speed, and writing direction, is already securely encrypted in the device. Encryption is performed using a 4096-bit RSA key.
A major advantage for existing customers is the full compatibility with the predecessor model, the duraSign Pad Brilliance. Existing software solutions can continue to be used without any adjustments, making it easy to switch over at any time. For modern IT environments, the new signature pad is equipped with a USB-C port. A USB-C to USB-A adapter is included in the delivery. Thanks to HID compliance, no separate driver installation is necessary – the device is ready for immediate use.
The scope of delivery also includes the duraPen 1 wireless signature pen, which is securely attached to the device via a cord. The pen can be stored either vertically in the device for stationary use or horizontally locked in place for mobile transport. The duraSign Pad 5.0 is suitable for creating advanced electronic signatures in accordance with eIDAS and can also be used in Citrix and remote desktop environments with the appropriate extensions.
Conclusion: Further development of a proven solution
With the duraSign Pad 5.0, StepOver continues the consistent further development of its proven signature pad series. The combination of robust hardware, large color display, modern USB-C interface, high security standards, and full software compatibility makes the new model a future-proof solution for companies that want to make their signature processes digital, efficient, and legally compliant.

Why signature pads are a good alternative
Digital signature pads are now a central component of modern, efficient business processes. They enable fast, paperless, and legally compliant signature capture directly at the point of sale, at reception, or in the office. Media breaks are eliminated, processes are accelerated, and costs for printing, shipping, and archiving are significantly reduced. At the same time, convenience for customers increases, as documents can be signed digitally and processed immediately.
