Partnership for qualified electronic signatures (QES)
The Stuttgart-based company StepOver is expanding its range of services and now enables the use of qualified electronic signatures for anyone with a valid European ID card in addition to advanced electronic signatures. This innovation was realized through a cooperation with the company Signius.
The qualified electronic signature represents the highest security level among the various types of electronic signatures and is regulated in the EU by the eIDAS Regulation (No. 910/2014). It has the same legal effect as a handwritten ink signature on paper.Â
A characteristic feature of the qualified electronic signature is the identification procedure that the signatory must undergo before signing for the first time. The identity of the signatory is established beyond doubt and a qualified certificate is issued that can be used for qualified signatures. StepOver draws on the expertise of its partner Signius for this process.Â
With the integration of this solution into the webSignatureOffice cloud solution, all StepOver customers can now use both advanced and qualified electronic signatures.
Signius is a German-Polish company based in Berlin, Warsaw and Poznan. SIGNIUS was founded in 2019 specifically for the development and distribution of signature solutions.
